Joseph McDonald Fillerup passed away October 19, 2014.
He was preceded by Mitzi, his wife of 62 years; a son; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and nine siblings.
He is survived by five children, 15 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Born in Lovell, Wyoming, on January 9, 1923, Joseph served in World War II.
He completed three missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities in his church.
He earned a doctorate in education and retired from the University of Arizona.
He was known for his good advice, compassion and generosity, and sense of humor.
Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tucson, Arizona, on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the same location.
