Son of Thomas Lee Veale and Christina Margaret Sherrill.

He was a Harris County deputy sheriff at the time of his WWI draft registration and was married. He was a Texas Ranger at the time of his death from a gunshot wound, according to his death certificate.

He married Loran Yarbrough on April 14, 1917 in Harris County Texas, but his death certificate shows he was single at the time of his death.

The only marker in the Veale plot is for Bertram. His name is not visible on his marker, only the dates.

Ranger Veale Killed

Austin, Texas Feb. 8-
As a result of a shooting affray which occurred last night, Ranger B. C. Veale, a private in Company D, Texas ranger force, is dead, and Ranger Captain K. F. Cunningham is wounded in the neck. The tragedy occurred in the road three miles south of the city. Information given by officers is that Cunningham and Veale while in an automobile with Captain Harry M. Johnston, quartermaster of the ranger force, and Walter E. Mayberry, the latter a special ranger in charge of the grounds at Camp Mabry, engaged in an argument. The car was stopped and Cunningham and Veale got out. The shooting followed.

A charge of murder has been placed against Captain Cunningham. Rangers Harry M. Johnston and Walter Mayberry, who witnessed the shooting, have been suspended."Was a TX Ranger who died of gunshot wound. His parents were T L Veale (Cooks Point,TX) and Tinnie Sherrell (TN) per death cert. Informant was J H Veale from Sandy Point,TX.
