OBITUARY - The Brownstown Banner, Jan. 1, 1919.

Sarah Emaline Hill, daughter of John and Elendar Hill, was born Feb. 8, 1836, near Houston, and departed from this life December 27, 1918, aged 82 years, 10 months and 19 days. She was united in marriage to John Carmichael, June 28, 1855 (this is recorded in the Bible records as well), and to this union five children were born, three having preceded her to the grave. She leaves to mourn for her, one son, John William Carmichael, and one daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Brown, both of this place; thirteen grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Barker, of Sardas, Ohio, and two brothers, Scott and James Hill of Oklahoma, also a host of relatives and friends. She united with the M. E. Church in early girlhood and was a faithful member until death.
Funeral services were conducted at the M. E. Church Sunday morning by Rev. Weever, of Freetown, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Houston Cemetery by the side of her husband.
