Major League Baseball Player. The right-hander pitched for the St. Louis Cardinals (1922 and 1923) and the Detroit Tigers (1926). He was 4-5 with a 4.21 earned run average in 1922 and 3-3 and a 3.73 ERA the following year. He was 1-2 with the Tigers with a 4.88 ERA. He pitched mainly in relief. Only five of his 86 appearances were starts, and he completed two, including a shutout. His lifetime totals were 8-10 and 4.10 ERA. Yet, he was a standout minor-league pitcher who had a 314-243 record and toiled 21 years, mainly in the Pacific Coast League, Texas League and Southern League from 1914 to 1935. He appeared in one game for Chattanooga in 1938 at the age of 47.
