Edward Francis Abare, 89, of San Diego died Wednesday. He was born in St. Albans, Vt., and was a retired stationary engineer and chief petty officer in the Navy.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association.
Survivors include his daughters, Donna Fleig of Oakland, Michele Abare of San Diego, Jeanne Carruolo of Tiverton, R.I., and Maureen Abare-Laudy of San Diego; sons, Don Abare of Morongo Valley, John Abare of Chula Vista and Jeffrey Abare of San Diego; sisters, Margaret Runge of Fort Myers, Fla., and Dorothy Lawyea and Rose Baker of St. Albans, Vt.; and six grandchildren.
Services: 3 p.m. Thursday, Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, Point Loma.
Inurnment: Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
Arrangements: Featheringill Mortuary.
