Grandma was a lovely lady. She loved all dogs and animals and donated to just about every animal charity. She loved to read, work on crossword puzzles and stay up to 2am in the morning before going to bed. She was generally quiet except when talking about animals and politics and of course the NY Yankees. A memory of Grandma that probably everyone in our family can recall is this quiet and sweet lady would change into an animal when playing board games. Her mouth would sound like a truck driver when she was losing at the game and sometimes tip the board over to find pieces of the games everywhere on the table or the floor. Then she would walk away from the game and sit on her chair and not say a word. She loved the cold weather and rain. She would sit and stare at the rain through the window and you can see the light brown color in her eyes and the peaceful look on her face. I would ask "Grandma, what are you thinking? and she would respond "the rain sounds so peaceful". She had a chuckle that was original. She was a great cook. I was always amazed how she would cook pot roast and stew so good yet she was a vegetarian.

I knew Grandma for 28 years and I was there when she passed. Even though she didn't passed peacefully, I know she knew I was there with her and now she's at peace.

I feel I have a lifetime of memories of her not just 28 years worth.
