Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, in the Morgan Cemetery in Sumiton. Rev. Doug Tate will officiate. New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home in Dora will direct.
Mrs. Anderson was the owner/operator of Hessie's Cafe in Sumiton for many years. She was a member of the Sumiton First Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star, Julius Green Chapter #518. She was preceded in death by parents, Samuel Jackson Wells and Mollie Bell Powell Wells; daughter, Jimmie Lee Steadings; sister, Jewell Wells Dawson; brother, Talmadge Wells; and husband, Hershel Anderson.
She is survived by two brothers, Gwin Wells and his wife, Sonja of Sumiton, Williard Wells and his wife, Margie of Bazorla, Texas; five grandchildren, Kaye Tucker of Sumiton, Sandra Phillips of Florida, Mary Ann Lucus of Hueytown, Susan Kilgore of Tannehill and James Steadings Jr. of Oak Grove; 16 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
