The son of Michael & Rachael (Wonders) Elicker, he married Belinda Snyder and fathered the children you see linked below plus Lydia Ann (b. 08/31/55 - married Webster Millard) and Henry W. (b. 12/??/60). Then a farmer by trade, he is not found in the 1860 census, but some of his family lived in York County, Pennsylvania, although he may have been residing neighboring Cumberland County. He stood 6' 0" tall and had dark hair and blue eyes.

A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland, August 25, 1864, and mustered into federal service at Harrisburg August 27 as a private with Co. I, 200th Pennsylvania Infantry. Promoted to corporal, date unknown, he honorably discharged with his company May 30, 1865. His brother George served in same company and regiment.

After the war, he moved to Ohio.
