Cloyd Ake, 80, of Osterburg, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. Mr. Ake was born Feb. 17, 1919, in Weyant, a son of Joseph C. and Hannah (Berkheimer) Ake. Surviving are his wife and five children. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, including his twin Clyde M., five sisters, a granddaughter and a great-grandson.
He retired from New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. He served in Europe with the Army during World War II and was a member of the Bedford American Legion. He also was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.
