One of seven children born to Clara Roscamp and Henry Clay Beebe.

She appears with her parents and siblings in the 1900 Federal Census of Banner, Fulton County, Illinois, living on a farm they were renting. The household included: Henry C Beebe, age 49, born April 1851 in Illinois to a father from New York and a mother from Illinois, a farmer; Clara, age 36, born September 1863 in Illinois to parents born in Germany, married 13 years, five children; Robert, age 12, born may 1888 in Illinois, at school; Anna, age 10, born october 1889 in Illinois, at school; Kata, age 8, born October 1891 in Illinois; Maud, age 6, born February 1894 in Illinois; Mary, age 3, born July 1896 in Illinois.

She appears with her parents and siblings in the 1910 Federal Census of Olney, Otero County, Colorado, living on a farm they were renting. Her two older siblings were no longer in the household but the family had added two more children: Philip, age 9 and Verna, age 3, both born in Illinois.

By 1920, Kate's father had died and Kate was a resident at the Florida State Hospital in Gadsden County, Florida. In the 1920 Federal Census of Fort Ogden, DeSoto County, Florida, Kate's widowed mother was living with Kate's 19 year old brother Philip, who was head of the household and owned the farm on which they were living in Fort Ogden. Kate's sisters Maud, age 28, and Mary, age 24, were also in the household.

By 1930, Kate's mother had moved back to Fulton County, Illinois and was living with Kate's older sister Anna Miller and her husband.

Kate appears as a resident of the Florida State Hospital in 1920 and in both the 1930 and 1940 Federal Censuses of River Junction, Gadsden County, Florida. She was single, had a college education, and was born in Illinois.
