ROBERTSON – Opal Fern (Blue), 82, was called to heaven by her Lord and savior on March 8, 2008. Born March 28, 1925, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Elmer and Laura (Rhodes) Blue. Preceded in death by husband, James L. Robertson; son, Richard Lynn Robertson; grandson, Brady J. Robertson; brothers, Blair, Dwight, Loren, Merle and Marlin Dean; and sisters, Nina Reiman, Vesta Hess and Gertrude Metzgar. Survived by sons, Kerry, and wife, Donna; Fred, and wife, Cathy; Kevin, and wife, Kim; daughter, Ellen Mahoney, and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Jamie, Kimberli, Connie, Carie, Ryan, Robby, Brent, Tori and Ashlyn; and five great- grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Laura Arkwright and Dora June Berg, and many nieces and nephews. Opal was a loving Christian mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Middle Taylor Township Volunteer Fire Company and a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Pastor Phil King officiating. Friends received 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hindman Funeral Homes and Crematory Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. Interment, Benshoff Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren Memorial Fund, 856 Benshoff Hill Road, Johnstown, Pa. 15906, in Opal's memory. Opal enjoyed her last six years of her life at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, after moving from Benshoff Hill. Psalm 27:1 "The Lord is my light and salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
