Walterboro, Nov 19 [1953] - George B Hartzog, 68, died at 8 o'clock this morning at his home here after an illness of about a year.
Before his illness, he was night manager and ticket agent with the Atlantic Greyhound and Southern Stages Corporation. He was born at Orangeburg, a son of the late Henry Edward Hartzog and the late Mrs Martha May Hartzog. Mr Hartzog made his home here the past 23 years. He was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church and a member of the Walterboro Masonic Lodge.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon from the Fred Parker Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in the Live Oak Cemetery.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs Mazell Steedly Hartzog, one son, George Benjamin Harzog, Jr of Washington, DC; two daughters, Mrs Albert Ribansky of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Mrs Marion Jones [Mary Jack Hartzog Jones] of Beaufort, and six grandchildren.
