Born Aug. 24, 1939, in Conemaugh Township, Indiana County, he was the son of Franklin E. and Sylvia A. Swartz Blystone.
Mr. Blystone live in Brownstown all of his life. He belonged to the Roaring Run Trail Association, Apollo, and the American Legion, Ford City.
Before retiring in 1997, he worked for 28 years as an inspector and water tester for Eljer Plumbing in Ford City. He was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Agnes Bash Blystone; two sons: Brian Blystone, at home, and Richard Blystone, Spring Church; one brother, John Blystone, Kiski Township; two sisters: Mrs. Norman (Marylyn) Atkins, Staunton, Va.; and Mrs. Joseph (Betty) Bosch, Elders Ridge; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home, Apollo, where funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. George Rugh will officiate and interment will take place in the Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
