A native of the North Fork Valley, Thomas farmed his entire life and was a retired Montreat, North Carolina Police Officer.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of seventy five years, Grace Evelyn Morris. Sons, Gordan Morris (Janelda), Phillip Morris (Kim), daughters Gail Shook (Fred),and a daughter Janet Morris Cordell(deceased), nine grand children, 19 great grand children, and 5 great-great grand children.

Thomas lived a full and happy life, born and raised upon the land once owned by his parents, passed down from generation to generation. His home where he born, was where he passed away. With his wife Grace and family by his side.

His request during his illness was his bed to be faced looking out the window, so he could graze upon his land, and see his cattle and new calves roaming his pasture.

He loved telling stories and bringing joy, laughter and happiness to all around him. And holding his sweet wife's hand. He spent every afternoon on his porch waving at every neighbor and even to the children on the school bus that drove by his home. And now that he has gone, Ms. Grace sits upon their porch and waves at all who pass by.

Church Services were held at Mountain View Baptist Church in Black Mountain NC, with burial to follow at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.

Thomas was laid to rest at Mountain View Baptist Cemetery. A place just across the road, that looks down upon the valley of land that he so loved and shared with his wife Ms. Grace. Not many of us can have that, and bless Thomas's heart he did.
