The best grandmother and friend in the world. She was the only real mother I ever had or knew... She never judged anyone. She loved you for who you were and how you were. MeeMaw (as her great-grandkids re-named her! She was always Grandma to me) was such a hard worker and great cook. I miss those wonderful hot, steaming bowls of cream peas... Ashley and Michael, her great-grandchildren remember the special drawer of candy she kept for them in the fridge...and how much she loved them. They talk about her all the time. She was loved so much. MeeMaw, I miss going to church with you on Sundays. Thank you for keeping your faith in the Lord front and center in my life by witnessing more through example than anything. I wish we could have visited Mrs. Bolton in Franklin, TX one more time or went again and played bingo. You were a lot of fun and up for anything. Just once more I would like to yell "look out!!!" and have you gripe at me by saying "Pamla Jean!" which was as bad as you ever fussed at me. As always, in hindsight, I wish I had done so many things differently. There are so many houses I see that either look like yours or I wish were yours. I'll say..."MeeMaw would love that little house!" So many times, I think back on our late night phone calls that could last for hours. I miss hearing your voice--or your kind advice. I would eat your celery in the turkey and dressing without complaint. I would leave your Kleenex box on the dashboard of the car alone....play cards all night long--or dominoes. Anything you asked...for just five minutes with you.
