This is my husbands maternal grandfather. He was also one of my grandparents best buddy.My grandparents and Glen (and his wife Maxine) used to camp at Norway Campground in Monticello Indiana. They would have a good old time around the campfire , playing music etc. The memories of those summers are "music" to my ears. Music that I have missed and so long to hear. Someday soon, the music will once more play again.

Glen Richard Rexstrew , 74 , Monticello , formerly of Kokomo , died at 3 a.m. Tuesday November 5 1996 , at Monticello Health Care Center. On November 27 , 1921 , in Michigan City , he was born to Loyd and Pearl (Sullivan) Rexstrew. On January 10 , 1948 , in Kokomo , he married Lois Maxine Mills , she survives.

He was a Class A Machinist at Haynes International , retiring in 1976 after 25 years of service. He was a telephone line man in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law David and Neva Williams , Kokomo. And three daughters and two sons-in-law.Brenda Smith , Kokomo , Jean and Tom Turley , Peru , and Stephanie and Theo Vaupel , Logansport. A sister Mae Rojahn , Lake Station , 12 grandchildren , 13 great-grandchildren , and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceding him in death were three brothers , three sisters , a grandchild and two great-grand-children.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Ron Visser will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans and or the Kokomo Rescue Mission.
