Vee Thomas Radford passed peacefully of a brief illness with his family by his side. He was born to James Leroy and Ida May Radford on June 11, 1929.
He graduated from Twin Falls High in 1948.
He joined the Army. While there he fought in the Korean War and received The Korean Service Medal with five bronze stars. Also a Presidential Unit Citation award for his bravery.
After his discharge he met and married Eva Mae Winward on May 15, 1954.
They settled in Arco where Vee worked for the AEC. They had three children during this time.
Vee went on to construction and the family traveled for a few years before settling in Boise in 1964. There was an addition of two more children.
Vee was a welder and worked at various jobs before suffering a stroke in 1993. He spent the next years with his wife Eva at home, taking walks in his yard and tinkering with his tools.
In the last few years he enjoyed spending time with his youngest grandson, who thought Grandpa was the best.
In November, 2005 Vee moved to the Veterans home which was his final home.
Vee is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years Eva; his daughters Darla (& Mark) Duplecion of TX; Merri (& Jim) White of TX; and his sons Ron (& Kathy) of Meridian, ID; Robert of Minnesota; and Monty (& Doreen Jordan) of Nampa, ID. He has seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren with two more (twins) on the way in June. He is also survived by six brothers (and spouses) Gerald, Dean, Jay, Lyal, Rex and Keith; one sister, Vonda and her spouse and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
The family would like to thank the Veterans Hospital and Nursing Home for the wonderful care that Dad received while there. Also for the kindness you showed our family through this. Also, thank you to Dr. Cusack who cared a lot of years gently for Vee.
You fought the good fight Pop, We Love You.
