He was the son of Lucille Houk and Harvey Beatty. Research affirms that his full name was William Henry Harrison Beatty. However, many records, including his Social Security and obituary, refer to him simply as Harrison Beatty. He married Jennie Crawford on 4 Dec 1913 and they had four known children.

His obituary in the Terre Haute Tribune, July 1, 1971, provides that he was a retired grocer and a member of Maplewood Christian Church, Terre Haute Lodge No. 19, F7AM and the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute.

Surviving were the widow, Jennie; one daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Juanita) Stultz, Vincennes, Ind.; three sons, Charles H., Terre Haute, William V., Phoenix, Ariz., Robert E., eau Gallie, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Hester Merryman of New Jersey, Mrs. Frances Gilmore, Oakland City, Ind.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

AN ASIDE: I well remember the Beatty's Market on 13th Street at Collett Avenue which Mr. Beatty owned.
