Emmett Lewis Hungate "Red", 59, of Blacksburg, died Thursday, April 21, 1994. Mr. Hungate was born in Pulaski County, Virginia, a son of the late Emmett Granville Hungate and Lilian Helena Carden Hungate, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Augusta Ruth Hungate. He was employed as an operator for R.A.A.P. Survivors include his wife, Jane Linkous Hungate; two daughters and sons-in-law, Helena and Ted Prindle, Milford, New Hampshire, Cheryl and Phillip Roberinson, Amarillo, Texas; two sons, Terry Lewis Hungate, and David Scott Hungate, both of Blacksburg; three grandchildren, Tara Prindle, Milford, New Hampshire, Brian J. Blandford, and Nicholas Blandford, both of Amarillo, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn C. and Leona J. Hungate, Fairlawn; Anthony M. "Tony" Hungate, Radford; nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Mr. Bobby E. Fuller and the Rev. John M. Hopkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 200 Progress Street, N.E., Blacksburg, Va 24060 or Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church for the Wade Memorial Fund, 1406 Giles Road, N.E., Blacksburg, Va. 24060. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7-9 pm at McCoy Funeral Home.
