Robert Elwood “Bob” Koch, 66, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Midland Hospice House.

He was born April 14, 1948 in Topeka, the son of Robert Edward and Eileen Frances (Reynolds) Koch. He was a 1966 graduate of Seaman High School. He received a Bachelor’s in Science with an emphasis on Math and Physics from Emporia State University and a Teaching Degree from Washburn University.

Mr. Koch taught in 340 and 501 School Districts and retired from KDOT, Department of Material and Research.

He was a member of the Mayetta Masonic Lodge No. 393. Robert restored classic cars.

Robert married Kathy Holden on September 18, 1971 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Kelly (Jason) Northup of Olathe; a son, Ryan (Katie) Koch, Lawrence; 5 grandchildren, Colton Northup, Dylan Northup, Lucy Koch, Barret Koch and Lola Koch; and a sister, Cheryl Koch of Topeka.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert was cremated. A memorial service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Interment will be at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
