Myrna Bills, former resident of Philomath and Corvallis, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
Myrna was born June 24, 1928, in Grace, Idaho, to Mark Leroy Green and Mary Elizabeth Williams Green, the youngest of seven children.
It was at Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah, that she met our father, Jim, who was the love of her life. They were married in 1946, and in 1952 they packed up their three children and headed for Los Angeles, California, where their last child was born.
After retirement she moved to Arroyo Grande, California, and then to Philomath. In 2011, she moved back to the sunny Central Coast, where she got back to gardening, which was her favorite hobby.
She is survived by daughter, Peggy Higgins Valko, and her husband, Butch, of Nipomo, California; daughter, Barbara Higgins Cleaver, and her husband, Bruce, of Corvallis; son, Tracy, and his wife, Glenna, of Hinton, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law Cathy Higgins of Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar Higgins, in 1969. She also lost a son, Joseph Arthur, in 2007; her parents; and six siblings.
