Mark M. Ghafoori, 52, of Wentzville, died Thursday (Nov. 15, 2001) as the result of a plane crash near Wentzville in St. Charles County.

Mr. Ghafoori was owner of Quality Mortgage Co.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of service today at Stygar Mid Rivers Funeral Home, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Charles. A funeral service will be held at 7 o'clock tonight at the funeral home. The body will be cremated.

Among survivors are his wife, Teresa Ghafoori of Wentzville; and four sons, Michael Ghafoori of St. Peters, Mathew Ghafoori and Martin Ghafoori, both of Weldon Spring, and Mark Ghafoori of St. Charles.

GHAFOORI, MARK M. in loving memory, born September 10, 1949 to November 15, 2001. Proud father of four sons. He will be missed. Michael Ghafoori,26, a registered nurse by degree, currently self employed as a general contractor in the St. Louis area and Mathew Ghafoori, 21 recently married is self employed in the financial real estate business, Martin Ghafoori, 19 a finance student at St. Louis University and currently working full time as a loan officer, Marc Johnanthan Ghafoori 13, is currently in the eighth grade at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School. Mark arrived in the U.S. in 1972 with nothing. He attended Ft. Hays, a university in Kansas where he met his wife, Janilla, then graduating from Kansas University with his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. He was then joined by his sister, Zara Farsad who was very close to him. Mark began investing in real estate in the early 1980's, helping to provide homes to many in the St. Louis area. He started Quality Mortgage Service Inc., in 1987. In 1998 he started Triple AAA Mortgage and established QMS Wholesale in 2000. All who know him, know that Mark felt his purpose in life was to Do good and help other always, regardless of rewards. Mark remarried in January of 2001 to his new wife Teresa Nacimiento and they were planning to adopt a child from overseas. Mark's family helped him to accomplish his life long dream of flying on his 50th birthday. Mathew and Martin shared his first flight. After over 166 hours of flight Mark earned his pilot's license on August 27, 2001 and nearly 2 years of flight. Nothing made him happier than his freedom during flight. Mark has lived each day to the fullest, giving of himself completely. Mark has accomplished much over the last 30 years and is very proud of his family. Mark has touched many people's lives and was loved by many. His passing is a great loss to us all, we are all truly blessed for knowing such a beautiful man. The Stygar Family of Funeral Service is caring for the Ghafoori family at the STYGAR MIDRIVERS Funeral Home, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., where memorials services may be held, Tues., Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. Memorials to the Children's Memorial College Trust Fund, in c/o Allegiant Bank preferred. Family will receive friends from 3 TO 7 P.M., before services.
