Graveside services were held Thursday October 30th in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Whittemore.
Agnes Elizabeth Wiltgen, the daughter of Michael and Bertha (Wiesenberg) Wiltgen, was born on March 27, 1915 in St. Joseph, Iowa. She graduated from Algona High School in 1933, the first senior class at O.B. Laing School.
On February 26, 1941 Agnes was united in marriage with John D. Baumann at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. They lived and farmed on the Baumann Century Farm, which became a Century Farm in 1976. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Whittemore and the Rosary Society. Agnes enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, flowers, reading and visiting with friends and family.
Left to cherish Agnes's memory are her children, James Baumann of Whittemore, Ruth Ann Patterson and her husband John of Custer, Montana, Mary Jean Laubenthal and her husband Ambrose of Titonka and Joseph Baumann of Whittemore; three grandsons, David (Heather), Mark and Kevin Laubenthal; and a sister, Cecelia Koppen of Whittemore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and five siblings, Ann Cudnik, Arthur, Clarence, John and Irvin Wiltgen.
Memorials may be made in Agnes's name to St. Michael's Catholic Church.
