Betty M. Narby, 82, of Davenport passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf with family by her side. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Services assisted the family with arrangements. There will be no services at this time.
Inurnment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ at a later date.
Betty May Wheeler was born on May 26, 1932 in Franklin, NJ, the daughter of Harold and Charlotte (Puff) Wheeler.
In 1951, she married Robert L. Narby in Succasunna, NJ. He preceded her in death in 1978. Betty owned and operated a childcare business out of her home in Davenport.
Referred to by her grandchildren as "G" or "G-ma", Betty will be remembered by all for her warm heart, exceptional cooking, her beautifully crocheted blankets and Iowa Hawkeye spirit.
She is survived by a Daughter: Linda Narby of Texas; five Grandchildren: Echo (Anthony) Griffin-Allen of Texas, Demond (Lisa) Griffin of Davenport, Erin Narby of Davenport, Kelcy Narby of Ames, IA, Colin Narby of Kansas City, MO; five Great-Grandchildren: Whitley Miles, Briana Miles, Jonathon Miles, Rylee Griffin, Mya Griffin; her Daughter-in-Law: Cheryl Narby of Davenport; and Siblings: Ronald “Bud” Wheeler and Robert VanKuren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a Daughter: Pamela Narby-Brown; two Sons: John Narby and Robert Narby Jr.; and Siblings: Harold Wheeler, Arthur Wheeler, Florence VanKuren-Bohn.
