Arthur Hershel Austin, 79, a farmer of Savannah, Tennessee died of respiratory failure on Monday, June 22 at Hardin County General Hospital in Savannah.
Funeral services were held at1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24 at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Savannah. Burial was in Memory Gardens of Hardin County. Tennessee.
Mr. Austin was a past member of the Board of Education, a member of the Hardin County Farm Bureau, attended Cherry’s Chapel Church, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: wife, Louise Robbins Austin of Savannah, Tennessee; daughter, Janice Horton of Savannah, Tennessee; son, Gene Austin of Lexington; sister, Ruby Barker of Savannah, Tennessee; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
