She is survived by her husband, Ernest E. Johnson, whom she married May 2, 1931 in Bay City and just celebrated 64 years of marriage. Ernest was an excellent Care Giver to his wife during her long illness. Also surviving are two daughters; Ilene (Al) Currie of Hillman, MI and Eleanor (Bob) Cates of St. Petersburg, FL, one brother Gustave "Lud" Johnson f Bay City, three grandchildren: Deborah (Gerald) Kelso of Garden City, Jim (Ann) Hawkins of Detroit, MI and Robert Cates of St. Petersburg, FL., several great and great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Gustave and Mary Johnson, two daughters, Phyllis M. Hawkins and Carol Johnson, one brother. Ervin Johnson and one sister, Lillian Johnson.
Funeral and Committal services will take place Monday, August 14, 1995 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Andreas H. Teich with private internment in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc, on Saturday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Johnson will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until service time. Memorials for Messiah Lutheran Church will be available at the funeral home.
