Salinas-Milton DeForest Braselton, 88, of Salinas, a retired railroad brakeman, died Wednesday at Crestwood Convalescent Hospital. Born Jan. 14, 1908, in Russellville, Ark., he had lived in Salinas for six months, coming from El Paso, Texas. Mr. Braselton worked as a brakeman with Southern Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1973. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Canutillo, Texas, and of Calvary Chapel of the Monterey Peninsula. He is survived by two sons, Milton Jr. of Danville and Steve of Salinas; a daughter, Sandra Dalton of El Paso, Texas; three brothers, Guy of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Jack and Kenneth, both of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Thelma Lee of Fort Worth, Texas, and Francis Pinchback of Austin, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Mayflower Presbyterian Church in Pacific Grove. Cremation will be at the Little Chapel by-the-Sea in Pacific Grove. Inurnment will be at Matador Cemetery in Matador, Texas. The Paul Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
