Marine Lance Cpl. Robert A. Martinez, 20, of Splendora, Texas died December 1, 2005 Serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.; attached to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward); killed Dec. 1 by an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Fallujah, Iraq. Also killed were Staff Sgt. Daniel J. Clay, Lance Cpl. John M. Holmason, Lance Cpl. David A. Huhn, Lance Cpl. Adam W. Kaiser, Cpl. Anthony T. McElveen, Lance Cpl. Scott T. Modeen, Lance Cpl. Andrew G. Patten, Sgt. Andy A. Stevens, and Lance Cpl. Craig N. Watson. Lance Cpl. Martinez died while on active duty in Iraq on Thursday, December 1, 2005, where he proudly served with the Fox/2-7 Marines stationed out of 29 Palms, CA. He was born on March 11, 1985 in Houston, TX. Robby was one of the varsity pitchers for the Cleveland High School Indians baseball team, where he was a graduate of the Class of 2003. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Kelly and Jeremy Hunt; father, Kevin McGehee; sister, Candice McGehee; brother, Mikey McGehee; fiancee', Taylor Wilkinson; grandparents, Charles and Tens Cino; Jim and Louise McGehee, Wanda and Wyly Harris, Calvin and Kim Hunt; special extended family, Brad and Char Inghram, Jeffrey and Michael Levett; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m., Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Rosewood Funeral Home, 22271 Hwy 59, Porter, TX. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2005 at United Baptist Church, 12308 Hwy 59, Splendora, TX. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park with full military honors.
