Obituary of William Pete Helsel
William Pete Helsel, 59, of Imler RD 1 died unexpectedly at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 1987, at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.
He retired from Bethlehem Steel, Johnstown, in 1975, after 23 years of service.
Mr. Helsel was born on Feb. 9, 1928, in Pavia, Bedford County, the son of Earl William and Jenny T. (Imler) Helsel. He married Violet M. Acker on Aug. 12, 1950, at Cumberland, Md.
The funeral was held Saturday by the Rev. Kerry L. Cathers. Burial was at the Greenfield Cemetery, Imler RD 1.
Mr. Helsel was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are his wife, three children: Charles E. of Hollidaysburg, Nancy Bechtel of Berlin and Roger of Martinsburg; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Also surviving are his mother of Imler RD 1; three brothers and a sister: Calvin of Bedford, Irene Boyer of Martinsburg and Robert and Clarence of Imler.
