Chris was born in Springfield, MO, to James L. Chism and Brenda S. Wood. He grew up in the Walnut Grove, Mo. area where he graduated in 1992.
Chris attended SMSU for a short time, then he joined the Plumbers and Pipefitters, Local #157 as an apprentice. He worked several years for Ward Plumbing and then Bowman and Drussa Plumbing. With his wife, Chris was self-employed for over eleven years and operated Chism Plumbing LLC in Willard.
Chris is survived by his wife, Melissa A. Chism; three young children, Blayne, Makayla and Chloe; mother, Brenda Curtiss; grandfather, John T. Shine; brother, Kevin Combs and wife Ginger; step-sister, Lacey Hudgens and husband Matthew Hudgens; father and mother-in-law, Francis and Shirley Conrad.
Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery in Walnut Grove, MO.
