Bland Ballard Downing, 91, R.R. 1, Hollansburg, died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 1973 at Wayne Hospital in Greenville.
Born in a log cabin near the Downing fruit farm, was was a native of Harrison Township and lived in the area all of his life.
He was a retired vice president and a former director of Farmers State Bank in New Madison.
Survivors include the widow, Lova; two daughters, Mrs. Barry McLear, R.R. 1, New Madison, and Mrs. Douglas Jenkins of Hollansburg; four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Mr. Downing were held Wednesday at Storch Funeral Home in New Madison, Rev. Wells Behee officiated. Burial was in Hollansburg Cemetery.
