---Mary H. Summey, 93, of Marshall passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014 early in the morning at Thurston Woods of Sturgis.
---Mary was born on June 3, 1921 in Sturgis to Pete and Emily (Eyster) Pappas. She married Fremon R. Summey on September 7, 1940 in Sturgis. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1993.
---Mary was a homemaker and loved to take care of her family. She also formerly worked at Kirsch in Sturgis.
---Mary enjoyed football pools and many sports, especially the Detroit Tigers! She also liked to go fishing, ice fishing, play bingo, and go out for supper with others. Every year she would purchase Christmas gifts for all of the residents at various nursing homes and had a lot fun wrapping them throughout the year to give out. Mary loved to do anything that allowed her to spend quality time with family and friends!
---She is survived by her sisters, Irene Miller-Pappas and Helene (Albert) Bumann both of Sturgis; granddaughter, Carlesa (Justus) Beatty of Battle Creek as well as several nieces and nephews.
---She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fremon R. Summey; their daughter, Carolyn Lee Bouchard and son in-law, Dennis Bouchard; sisters, Frances Ryan, Mary Anna Eyster and Georgia Kreider; and brothers, Gus, Nick and Jim Pappas.
---Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st from 5-8PM at the Craig K. Kempf Family Funeral Homes, Marshall Chapel, 723 US 27 North, Marshall. A graveside service will be held at 2:30PM at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Rd., Augusta, MI 49012 on Thursday, October 2nd with Rev. James Codde officiating. Memorials in memory of Mary can be made out to the Wounded Warriors Project or Thurston Woods of Sturgis. Assistance with memorials is available at the funeral home.
