ROBERT JORDAN, 51, SUCCUMBS--Robert G. Jordan, 51, of 3015 High Point Road, died at 12:30 am, Wednesday at a hopsital in South Boston, VA, where he had been a patient nine days. He had been in declining health four months. He was a native of Guilford County, and was employed as a truck driver for S&W Motor Lines. He was a veteran of WWII, a member of Friendly Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Ester Gattis; one daughter, Mrs. Louise Padgett of Raleigh; two brothers, Ralph T. and William H. Jordan of Greensboro, and five grandchildren. Funeral services willl be held at 4 pm, Thursday in Hanes-Lineberry Chapel by Rev. W. S. Luck, pastor of Friendy Baptist Church and the Rev. James M. Allred, pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jordan's fellow employees at S&W Motors Lines.
