PERRYVILLE - James Willis Broyles, Sr., 67, of Gravel Switch, died Sunday at his residence. Born Feb. 25, 1937, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Beva Satterly Broyles. He was a heavy equipment operator for Todd Johnson Contracting, a member of Mitchellsburg Church of God and an Army Veteran. He was the husband of Mary Bryant Broyles. Other survivors include one daughter, Donna Broyles Pendergraft of Gravel Switch; two sons, Larry W. Broyles of Parksville and James W. Broyles Jr., of Springfield; five sisters, Wanda Overstreet of Danville, Glenna Engle of Harrodsburg, Evelyn Engle of Liberty, Polly Dennis of Lancaster and Linda Johnson of Danville; one brother, Bobby Broyles of Paradise, Calif.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mitchellsburg Church of God by the Revs. Larry Moore and Junior Fields. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Lee Coulter, David Weldon, Tommy Bottoms, Dallas Taylor, and David Moore and Chester Shirrell. Honorary pallbearers are David Gourley, David and Daniel Bryant. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Mitchellsburg Church of God. Memorials may go to Lake Cumberland Hospice. Wilder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
