A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, in Trinity Episcopal Cathedral for Harold Burkitt, who died Aug. 7 at age 97.
Mr. Burkitt was born Aug. 20, 1903, in Jackson, Tenn. He moved in 1913 to Portland and graduated from Jefferson High School and the University of Oregon. He owned and operated a metal finishing company and was past president of the American Electroplaters Society. In 1926, he married Eleanor Holman.
Survivors include his wife; son, Harold H.; daughter, Barbara Sloggett; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
