Northville: Funeral services for Aaron J. Bade, 78, of Northville are 10:30 am, Monday, Nov. 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mansfield with Pastor Bret Bierman officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Aaron died Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls.

Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 5 p.m. at Spitzer-Miller Fellowship Hall, directly east of the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.

Aaron J. Bade was born on March 11, 1936, in Nelson, Wis., to Oscar and Orvilla (Torgeson) Bade. In 1942, the family moved to a farm near Ferney, S.D. He attended a country school in West Hanson Township and graduated from Groton High School with the class of 1954. He attended SDSU, graduating in 1958 receiving a degree in Agriculture Economics and played football. On Oct. 1, 1960, he married Carole Meyer near Mansfield, S.D. They were blessed to celebrate 54 years of marriage. Aaron was drafted in the U.S. Army in 1960, serving at Fort Belvoir, Va., and was honorably discharged in 1962. He returned to the Chelsea area where he farmed with Carole's parents.

Aaron was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mansfield where he served with the Woodworking Guild and Sons of Norway. He also was a member of EVAC Astronomy Club of America in Phoenix, Ariz., member and officer of International Flying Farmers. He served on the school board at Northwestern. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, working with his hands, taking pictures and driving around in his pick-up.

Grateful for having shared Aaron's life are his wife of 54 years, Carole Bade, Northville; children, Michael (Mary) Bade, Savage, Minn., Rodney (Kim) Bade, Northville, S.D., Kathy Dirksen, Fargo, N.D.; grandchildren, Laura (Matt), Casey (Bailey) and Kristie Bade, Justin and Christopher Dirksen, and his sister, Bev Dobrenski.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Orvilla Bade and brother-in-law, Bob Dobrenski.
