Cora Shepherd, 84, of Hanover passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Hanover Health and Rehab.
She was born on February 20, 1930 to Bill and Nancy Ann Fields Caudill on Caudills Branch in Blackey, KY. She married Little Shepherd of Gordon, KY on December 23, 1949 and moved to Indiana in 1952. Cora worked at Southwestern Elementary Cafeteria for 20 years and was a member of the Hurricane Gap Old Regular Baptist Church in Gordon, KY.
She is preceded in death by her husband and brothers; Dock, Willard, Spencer, George Bee Caudill, sisters; Ceclia Coffee, Ora Caudill, Vade, Ade, Viney, Berthie, Arlie and Mary, great grandchildren; Little Pennington and Angel Scroggins and a son-in-law Rick Wheeler.
She is survived by her daughters; Brenda Scroggins (Bill) and Barbara Wheeler, both of Hanover, sister, Hattie Chitwood of Greenwood, IN, grandchildren; Chad Pennington (Amy), Susan Peters (Dustin), Josh Scroggins (Jody), Tom Scroggins (Laura), Laura Hinton (Bobby), BJ Scroggins and Chris Wheeler, great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Grayson Funeral Home in Hanover with burial in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Madison, IN. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 1 pm. on Sunday.
