Richard Dale Alkire, 68, of El Centro passed away at El Centro Regional Medical Center, on Monday, September 1, 2014

Richard was born on November 11, 1946 in Hoopsten Illinois. He married Kathryn Alkire on December 13, 2002 in Yuma, AZ. Richard was retired from Odgen Energy as an Engineer Superervisor. He was a US Marine for 7 years with several commendations including the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, the Navy Commendation Medal for Meritorious Services, and several good conduct medals. He served in the Vietnam war three times. Richard was a graduate of Devry University in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from high school in Hoopsten, Illinois. Richard enjoyed computers, mechanics, and electronics. His favorite television show was NCIS and he had a vast knowledge of guns and cars. His prized possessions were his 2007 Corvette and his 50 caliber pistol.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; three step-children, Teresa, James, and Dawna. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and his beloved Pitbull, Angel.

Graveside service will take place in the National Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ. Services will be private.
