Pearl was the wife of Marvin Taylor Gowen a local Pharmacist. Mother of William Robert Gowen Sr., Mary Francis Gowen, Guy Milton Gowen and Lucille Gowen Shearin. She and Marvin owned and operated Gowen's Pharmacy from 1949 until 1965 in Tullahoma. Marvin died in 1967, shortly after retiring, at the young age of 65. Eleven years later Pearl's health began to fail and she eventually passed away in a Chattanooga hospital, while staying with her son Guy. She was an amazing, light hearted person. She always had a smile and loved to cook a big meal for the family. She was a wonderful role model and beautiful person inside and out. Grandmother rarely missed a Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Tullahoma. She was loved by all.
