Services for Eugene Barth of New Braunfels will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Walter officiating. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at Appling Cemetery in Luling.

Barth, 67, died Oct. 23, 1988, at Brooke Army Medical Center. The son of Urban Emil and Thekla Elfrieda (nee Halm) Barth, he was born May 31,1921, in New Braunfels. Barth served in World War II and in Korea and retired from the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Lutheran church.

Barth is survived by his wife, Dorothy Barth of New Braunfels; a daughter; three sons; three sisters; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Barth. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
