Tupelo ‑ Agnes Smith, 87, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice. She was born December 18, 1928, to William Teennie and Alma Beatrice McCullough Willis. She worked as a substitute teacher for Mooreville School District. She was a homemaker for years and loved her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Northeast Church of Christ.
Survivors include three children, Tommy Smith (Dyan) of Tupelo, Nita Johnson (Tom) of New Albany and Tim Smith (Sheila) of Tupelo; sister, Kathleen Hussey (Jimmy); brother, Hayden Willis (Diane); grandchildren, Chris Smith (Dana), Rebecca Tucker (Michael), Tara Inman (Stan), Ashley Haas (Courtney), Andrew Smith, Landon Savoy and Blake Savoy (Marina).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Smith; son, James Smith; brothers, William "Sarge" Willis and Arnold Willis.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016, at the Jefferson Street Chapel with Minister Earl Mitchell officiating. A graveside will follow at Priceville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Smith, Michael Tucker, Davis Rakestraw, Dylan Rakestraw and Chris Smith.
