Galow, Donald Gilbert 12/17/1930 - 9/19/2014 Kalamazoo Donald Gilbert Galow died unexpectedly on Friday, September 19, 2014 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Don was born on December 17, 1930 to Carl and Evelyn (Larssen) Galow in Bay City, Michigan. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and worked the majority of his professional career as a Chemical Research Librarian at Upjohn in Kalamazoo and Reilly Industries in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is survived by his wife Frances Galow; brother Carl Galow and sisters Lois Bowker and Karen Wozniak; sons James Galow (Lisa Miller), Christopher Galow (Holly), and Jonathan Galow (Lisa); and their grandchildren, Erik Miller-Galow, Evan Miller-Galow, Alyson Galow, Noah Galow, and Margreit Galow. A committal service with military honors will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI on Friday morning, November 7, 2014 at 11 AM. Those wishing to attend should be at the cemetery's cortege area by 10:45 AM. Arrangements were made by Avink Funeral Home Cremation Society, 129 S. Grand St., Schoolcraft, MI.
