Dora M. Volk, 68, of Fawn, formerly of Ebensburg, died at 7:20 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 9, 2002) at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, Harrison.

Born April 2, 1933, in Jackson Township, Cambria County, she lived in Ebensburg, but was a Fawn resident for most of her life.

Previously, she was a cook at the former Rustic Inn and the Fawn Tavern, both in Fawn.

Mrs. Volk was a member of Holy Martyrs Parish in Tarentum.

She enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, William E. "Buckeye" Volk; five sons, Raymond W. Volk and John H. Volk, both of Fawn, William P. Volk of Tarentum, Kenneth J. Volk of Cape Coral, Fla., and Kelly L. Volk of Lower Burrell; three daughters, Mrs. Cathy (Mark) Shaffer of Butler, Mrs. Tammy (Dennis) Patterson of Winfield and Tracy L. Volk of Fawn; 29 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eva Cook of Nanty Glo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvine and Alva Steffey Kelly, and two sisters, Charlotte Edwards and Margie Wentz Yahnert.

Relatives and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME, Tarentum, and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the ASKEW-HOUSER FUNERAL HOME in Ebensburg. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Holy Name Roman Catholic Church in Ebensburg, with church pastor, Mons. Arnold L. Gaus officiating.

Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg.
