George FitzGerald, 16th Earl of Kildare was baptised on 23 January 1612.He was the son of Thomas FitzGerald and FrancesRandolph.He married Lady Joan Boyle, daughter of Richard Boyle, 1st Earl of Cork and Catherine Fenton, on 15 August 1630.He died in 1660.
He succeeded as the 16th Earl of Kildare 1620.He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University.
He was known as the Fairy Earl on account of his diminutive stature.
