HALSTEAD, Charles R. - Of Burton, age 73, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 12Noon Friday, July 18, 2008 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Scott Sutherland officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation 12-3 and 5-8PM Thursday at the funeral home. Charles was born in Flint, Michigan on December 31, 1934, the son of the late William and Mary (Hynes) Halstead. He was an avid golfer, car buff, loved bowling, watching NASCAR and football. Mr. Halstead was a former Mason. He loved gardening and spending time in the yard. Surviving are companion, Joan Hunter; children, Ronald and wife Jamie Halstead, Steve and wife Diana Halstead, Michele Halstead and husband Brian Patrick, Janice Wheatley, Michael Hunter, Mark and wife Nancy Hunter, Shirleen and husband Troy Pfieffer; 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Elvin Prince, Roy and wife Freida Prince, George and wife Margie Halstead; sister, Mary Ellen Love; many nieces and nephews.
