Pat Peurifoy was married to Laura Bever in 1940. They had four chilren: Rebecca, Mary Jane, and twins Scott and Karen.
He served in the United States Army in the European Theater during World War II. His unit was the first to March all across Czechoslovakia and meet the Russian Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
Mr. Peurifoy worked for many years with Springs Industry in Lancaster, South Carolina. In the 1960's he was assigned as the plant supervisor for a new facility in Laurinburg, North Carolina. This plant was eventually sold to J.P. Stevens where he continued as Plant supervisor.
Pat Peurifoy was a life long Methodist. At the time of his passing he had been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Laurenburg where he served in many capacities. He worked with Habitat for Humanities.
He was named for Dr. Patterson who delivered him.
Uncle Pat lived for others.
