Charles T. Maue, Sr., 78, passed away suddenly at 11:30 am Saturday at his home at 610 North James street. He was in poor health for the last two years. A lifelong resident of this city, he was the son of the late Jacob and Christina Ann Maue and was employed as system storekeeper by the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company for 37 years until his retirement in 1943. He served a term of seven years in city council under the old form of government. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church of this city, the Spanish American War Veterans, the Hazleton Flying club and was an ardent sportsman for many years.

His wife, Lillie Mae Maue, preceded him in death in 1941. Surviving are the following children: Russell, Mrs. Robert Stewart, William, Charles, Jr., Paul and Anna, all of this city; Rev. Harry Maue, pastor of the Olivet Presbyterian church, Easton, and Miss Phyllis Maue, R.N., of Philadelphia. Two brothers, Herman, of Harrisburg, and Stephen, of this city, and seven grandchildren also survive.

The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Bachman Brothers funeral home. Rev. Frederick B. Crane, D.D., pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate. Interment will be in the famly plot in Mt. View cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening.
