GADSDEN TIMES
Gadsden, Etowah Co., AL—Monday, 7 June 1976

Mrs. Jennie Spinks Alford, 101, 1126 Litchfield Ave., died at a local hospital Saturday at 7:50 p.m. after several weeks illness. Services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. from Collier-Butler Chapel…. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery.

Active pallbearers: James Beard, Donald, Travis, Bill, Jimmy, Leon and Richard Alford.

Honorary pallbearers: Dr. A.L. Ennis, Dr. L.R. Lonnergan, Dr. L.J. Newman, Dr. W.H. Simpson Sr., R.N. Wesley, Rev. J.J. Johnson, A.B. Clark, V.A. Nance, J.B. Mackey, Rev. Samuel D. Austin.

Survivors: daughter[s], Mrs. Otto C. Hall, Gadsden; Mrs. Myrtle Schmitt, Birmingham; sons, Otis, Otto W. and Roy Alford, Gadsden; 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 22 great great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Alford was a native of Talbotton, Ga. and a resident of Etowah County for the past 98 years and was one of the oldest residents of Etowah County. She was a member of the Liberty Methodist Church and wife of the late Walter Dean Alford….
