Charity B. Mears Charity B. Mears, 91 of Austin passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in Austin. She was born Oct. 25, 1921 in Bluff Dale, TX. Charity worked for the Texas Employment Commission Charge Back Unit for 25 plus years. She enjoyed sports and was an avid Longhorn fan. In 1995 she was awarded Republican Woman of the Year. Charity was a member of the Daughters of the Nile and sang in numerous church choirs. Charity will be sadly missed by her daughter, Norma (Dave) Blair; sons, Danny (Jeanne) Butler, Bill (Jennifer) Mears, Don (Crystal) Mears and Glenda (Bill) Caskey; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Summit at Westlake, 1034 Liberty Park Dr., Austin. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or The American Red Cross. The family would like to thank the Summit at Westlake for the excellent care they provided for our mom, it went beyond care and friendships were formed.
