Marilyn Jane Oliphant, 79, of Bloomfield, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 at her residence.
Born June 13, 1935 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Harry P. and Mildred (Bozell) Duncan.
She was a homemaker and attended Harvest Community Church in Bloomfield.
Surviving relatives include: four children, Sam Spires of Bloomfield, Rob Spires of Clinton, Mark Spires of Dennison, Illinois and Gail Spires of Ft. Myers, Florida; step children, Marilyn of North Carolina, Carolyn of Worthington and Julia of Bloomington; one brother, Richard Duncan of Florence, Alabama; one sister, Joanne Farmer of Farmersburg; her grandchildren, Mark Spires, Jr., Cade Spires, Christian Spires, Caleb Spires, Troy Spires, Seth Spires and Tia Spires; and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gail Bernard Spires, her second husband, Lemuel F. Oliphant, one son, Timmy Spires, one brother, Harry Duncan and her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Interment will be in Green Hill cemetery in Bedford.
Public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
